On Wednesday, June 3, in a ceremony attended by family, friends and Sheriff’s Office personnel, Sheriff Mark Hunter swore in three new CCSO members. Ms. Ranisha Williams was sworn in as a Deputy Sheriff, Mr. Justin Porter sworn in as a Detention Deputy and Mrs. Stephanie Massey took the oath of office for civilian employees.
On Thursday, May 28 at approximately 10:30 am, the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office responded to 359 NE Williams Rd due to a missing endangered female. A home health care worker alerted CCSO that Myra L. Williams, 62 had left her home on foot and could not be located.
The Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) has released the annual crime report. The statistics are from a reporting period of January 2014 to December 2014.
Detectives have identified the victim as Gewedolyn Cart, 72 and next of kin has been notified. A presumptive ID on the male suspect is Robert Hupp, 79.
