Sheriff Hunter Promotes CCSO Members
On Friday, October 9 in a ceremony attended by family, friends and Sheriff’s Office personnel, Sheriff Mark Hunter promoted SSgt. Robert Dees to the rank of Lieutenant and Lt. Katina Dicks to Captain.
New Members Join CCSO
On Wednesday, October 7, in a ceremony attended by family, friends and Sheriff’s Office personnel, Sheriff Mark Hunter swore in two new CCSO members. Ms. Martha Adams was sworn in as a School Crossing Guard and Mr. Kevin Cox was sworn in as a Deputy Sheriff.
Lake City Man Arrested Following Pursuit
On Wednesday, September 30, Columbia County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested a Lake City man on multiple charges following a vehicle pursuit. CCSO deputies were in the area of the Super 8 motel on SR 47 when they saw Christopher Jones, 43 whom they knew had a felony warrant for his arrest.
Major Marijuana Grow Operation Uncovered
On Wednesday, September 23, personnel from the Columbia County Multi-Jurisdictional Drug Task Force uncovered a major marijuana grow operation at 1357 SW Wilson Springs Rd.
