On Wednesday, October 21, in a ceremony attended by family, friends and Sheriff's Office personnel, Sheriff Mark Hunter swore in two new CCSO members. Mr. Aaron Rose was sworn in as a Detention Deputy and Mr. Thomas Norris was sworn in as a Deputy Sheriff.

On Tuesday, October 20, a DOC K9 team from Baker Correctional Institution located a missing 96 year old Fort White man during a search effort initiated by the Columbia County Sheriff's Office.

Lake City Man Arrested Following Pursuit
On Wednesday, September 30, Columbia County Sheriff's Office deputies arrested a Lake City man on multiple charges following a vehicle pursuit. CCSO deputies were in the area of the Super 8 motel on SR 47 when they saw Christopher Jones, 43 whom they knew had a felony warrant for his arrest.
Major Marijuana Grow Operation Uncovered
On Wednesday, September 23, personnel from the Columbia County Multi-Jurisdictional Drug Task Force uncovered a major marijuana grow operation at 1357 SW Wilson Springs Rd.

Deputies Locate Stolen Property
On Tuesday, September 8, the Columbia County Sheriff's Office recovered a large amount of stolen property taken in two separate burglaries that occurred over the weekend.
