On Wednesday, September 23, personnel from the Columbia County Multi-Jurisdictional Drug Task Force uncovered a major marijuana grow operation at 1357 SW Wilson Springs Rd.
On Wednesday, September 23, in a ceremony attended by family, friends and Sheriff’s Office personnel, Sheriff Mark Hunter swore in two new CCSO members. Ms. Katherine Milligan took the oath of office for civilian employees and Mr. Jordy Stewart was sworn in as a Deputy Sheriff.
On Friday, September 11, in a ceremony attended by family, friends and Sheriff’s Office personnel, Sheriff Mark Hunter swore in a new CCSO member. Ms. Brenda Taylor Jones took the oath for civilian employees. Ms. Jones will be assigned to the Administrative Division as the Fiscal Assistant.
On Tuesday, September 8, the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office recovered a large amount of stolen property taken in two separate burglaries that occurred over the weekend.
On Friday, August 21, at approximately 2 pm, Deputies responded to a burglary in progress at 249 NE Meeks St. in the unincorporated county area. When Deputies arrived, the burglar had fled the area on foot.
