On Thursday, August 22, Columbia County Sheriff Mark Hunter recognized a local man for his tremendous support to the Florida Sheriffs Association.
In a ceremony at the Sheriff’s Office, Mr. Zimmie Petty of Lake City was presented with the Distinguished Service Award by Sheriff Hunter. He was recognized for 35 years of contributing to the advancement of law enforcement by supporting the Florida Sheriff’s Association (FSA).
All of us at the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank Mr. Petty for his dedication and continued support of the law enforcement community and in particular, the Florida Sheriff’s Association.
“Florida Sheriffs stand firm on their commitment to protecting the citizens of Florida and the FSA is instrumental in assisting in that mission.” Sheriff Mark Hunter stated, “Citizens like Mr. Petty are a crucial link in the partnership we have with the community.”
