Deputies Arrest Lake City Man for Burglary
On Friday, August 21, at approximately 2 pm, Deputies responded to a burglary in progress at 249 NE Meeks St. in the unincorporated county area. When Deputies arrived, the burglar had fled the area on foot.

On Friday, August 21, Sheriff Mark Hunter presented a Detention Deputy with the Sheriff's Office Commendation Medal for her actions on July 21, 2015 which thwarted the escape of a jail inmate.
On Friday, July 31, at 5:18 pm the Columbia County Sheriff's Office was called to 427 SW Breckenridge Lane near Fort White due to a missing 10 year old child. Family members of Katelynn Mosher, 10 reported her as a runaway, which prompted the search.
