On Friday, detectives from the Multi-Jurisdictional Drug Task Force seized narcotics, cash, and a vehicle as a result of an ongoing investigation.
The investigation began on April 1, when an anonymous tip was received on the drug tip hotline. Task Force Detectives, acting on the tip information, conducted an investigation and developed probable cause for a search warrant for 522 NE Granger Mill Ave. The search warrant was executed and resulted in the seizure of over 40 grams of powder cocaine, 70 grams of crack cocaine, and nearly 10 pounds of marijuana. Also seized was a large amount of cash and a vehicle used in the commission of the narcotics violations.
One arrest was made on scene with others pending as the investigation continues.
Arrested was Bert Peterson, 40 on charges of possession of cocaine, trafficking in cocaine, 2 counts of possession of marijuana and possession of drug equipment with a total bond of $156,000.
The Drug Task force is comprised of law enforcement personnel from Columbia County Sheriff’s Office, Lake City Police Department, Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE), Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF).
