On Tuesday, June 25, 2024, Sheriff Hunter held a check presentation for the Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranches. The check was for funds raised from our 13th annual community bowl-a-thon and fish fry which has been coined, “Fins-N-Pins.” This year’s event which was held in April, raised a total of $38,870.16. Electronic transactions during the event went directly through the Youth Ranch. Sheriff Hunter presented a check in the amount of $28,085.65 for the remainder of the funds raised to FSYR President, Bill Frye, and Executive Vice President, Maria Knapp. Since its inception, this event has raised over $410,000 for the Youth Ranch.
Sheriff Hunter said, “I am so proud of the partnership between our employees and community to benefit the ranch. This started as a way for us to give back to our community and support our youth, and has grown into something many of our citizens and local organizations look forward to doing with us each year. This is a labor of love for us and we are already anticipating a great time next year.”
After the check presentation, President Frye thanked Sheriff Hunter and CCSO employees for their long-standing commitment to the Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranches and the ranchers who benefit from our continued support.
