Deputies arrested three people after disrupting a burglary in progress last Friday.
On May 2, 2024, deputies were dispatched to the mini warehouses in Ellisville after the owner of the business reported that surveillance cameras were being tampered with. Upon arrival, deputies located Danielle Horndasch (35) inside a U-Haul van. While speaking with Horndasch, deputies observed a male subject fleeing from the area on foot. The deputies gave chase and were able to take that subject into custody. A third male subject was located hiding underneath a utility trailer. He surrendered upon being confronted with a CCSO K-9 unit. The two male subjects were identified as Corey Thompson (32) and Emmanuel Agosto-Pizaro (37). Further investigation revealed the van contained contents which were suspected to have been stolen from storage units. Detectives and Forensics responded to assist with processing the scene and conduct further investigation.
Sheriff Hunter stated, “The continued support of our community and business owners was instrumental in solving this case. I am proud of our deputies for their quick response and thorough investigation. They did exactly what they are trained to do and it resulted in the successful apprehension of multiple suspects. Previous crimes may be solved and future crimes may be prevented as the result of these arrests.”
All three subjects were arrested for burglary and transported to the Columbia County Detention Facility without incident.
