Detectives have made two more arrests in connection with the murder of Shawn Waldron. Waldron’s body was discovered in the Osceola National Forest in the area of NE Gum Swamp Road west of NE Range Road on April 11, 2023. Waldron’s body had been bound and severely burned.
On Friday, April 28, 2023, Sheriff Mark Hunter announced the arrest of Robert Lee Jackson in connection to the murder of Waldron. On Monday, June 26, 2023, Taquilla Clayton (22) of Lake City was arrested for her role in Waldron’s murder and was booked into the Columbia County Detention Facility. Detectives have also charged Tyre’ Taylor (31) of Lake City in Waldron’s murder. Taylor was already in custody in Georgia on unrelated charges. A hold is being placed on him for charges in this case.
“I want to commend our detectives for their continued efforts and determination in this case,” said Sheriff Mark Hunter. “We are committed to seeing this case resolved with all parties involved being held accountable.”
