(Deputies apprehending suspects following pursuit)
On Tuesday afternoon, August 2, 2022, deputies responded to the Dollar General located at the intersection section of S.R.247 and C.R.240 for a report of a robbery that had just occurred. A suspect and vehicle description was provided to deputies who were responding to the scene.
Deputy John Markmiller observed the suspect vehicle and attempted to conduct a traffic stop. The driver of the vehicle accelerated and fled from Deputy Markmiller. The deputy initiated a vehicle pursuit and coordinated with other deputies who were responding to assist. Corporal Scott Busby was able to position himself ahead of the pursuit and deploy spike strips as the pursuit passed his location. The deployment of the spike strips successfully deflated two of the tires on the suspect vehicle, bringing the pursuit to a stop approximately a mile later. Deputies apprehended three people who were in the vehicle without further incident. They were identified as the driver, Travice Davis (33), Kelvin Hubbard (33), and Trenese Brown (31).
In a statement, Sheriff Mark Hunter said, “It is always great when we can safely apprehend a suspect so quickly after they commit a crime. I am very proud of our deputies for the way they demonstrated such great effectiveness in apprehending these individuals.”
After conducting interviews with the suspects, detectives charged all three individuals with the following:
Travice Davis: Robbery by sudden snatching, Fleeing and Eluding
Kelvin Hubbard: Accessory to Robbery
Trenese Brown: Violation of Probation
