On Thursday morning, Sheriff Hunter presented a check for over $58,000 to Maria Knapp with the Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranch. The check was for funds raised from our annual “Fins-N-Pins” fundraiser for the Youth Ranch. The event is held each April and consists of a bowl-a-thon, followed by a community fish fry and auction.
This past April marked 10 years since the fundraiser was first held. Since its inception, the event has raised nearly $300,000 for the Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranch.
Sheriff Hunter states, “We are so fortunate to live in such a generous and giving community. This is a worthy cause, and we always look forward to supporting our children each year through this event. I am proud of our relationship with the community which makes this event so successful each and every year.”
