On Wednesday December 9, 2020, Sheriff Hunter presented Deputies Chris Hadley and Mitchell Kernan with the “Life-saving Award”.
On September 7, 2020, the deputies responded to a call regarding a tree that had fallen on an elderly male, pinning him against his tractor. The deputies located a chainsaw nearby and were able to free the male from the tree. The deputies then rendered first aid until EMS arrived and transported the subject to the hospital. The subject has since been able to recover from his injuries.
“The immediate response and quick actions of Deputies Hadley and Kernan resulted in a positive outcome to a potentially life threatening event,” said Sheriff Mark Hunter. “We are proud of these deputies for their actions, and are grateful that the victim was able to make a full recovery.”
