On Thursday night, February 13, Detectives began a homicide investigation in the 300 block of SW Donovan Glenn in unincorporated Columbia County.
Shortly after 7 PM, deputies were dispatched to a person shot call at the address. Once on scene, they located the victim deceased laying near a running vehicle. The victim Mr. Linville Curtis, 54 of Lake City had trauma to his upper body.
Detectives were called out and assumed the investigation, which is active and on-going.
Mr. Curtis was transported to the Medical Examiner’s Office in Jacksonville where cause of death will be determined. . Mr. Linville’s next of kin has been notified.
“Our detectives and deputies will work around the clock to solve this heinous crime and give closure to the family.” Sheriff Mark Hunter said “With crimes of this nature, the first few days are critical, therefore if you have information please contact us immediately.”
Detectives are asking that anyone who had contact with Mr. Linville on February 13th between 2 pm and 7 pm to please call and speak to a detective at 386-758-1095.
