On Wednesday, July 24, Sheriff Mark Hunter awarded Larry Auger with the Sheriff’s Commendation Medal before a group of Sheriff’s Office personnel.
Mr. Auger has been with the agency since 2009, where he started as the Sheriff’s executive assistant and later promoted to the Director of Administrative Services in 2015.
For the last year, Mr. Auger doubled as the agency’s Accreditation Manager and was instrumental in the successful state accreditation which the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office recently obtained.
“Although accreditation is a huge accomplishment for the entire Sheriff’s Office and very much a team effort,” Sheriff Mark Hunter said, “Larry’s drive and determination was key to our overall successes in this area. His ability to multitask and keep accreditation in the forefront gave us the opportunity to reach our goal of state accreditation in a timely manner.”
