In the late evening hours of May 20, Columbia County Sheriff’s Office Detectives arrested a local woman for murder as they continue to piece together the events that took place earlier.
The investigation began around 6:30 pm, Saturday, when the Columbia County Combined Communication Center received a 911 call from a female stating she had shot and killed her husband at 568 SW Bobcat Drive in south Columbia County.
When Deputies arrived, Tracy Lea Luckey, 50 repeated what she told the 911 operator to the Deputies and the body of David Sullivan, 49 was found inside the home.
CCSO Detectives were called to the scene and assumed the investigation.
At this time motive is still unclear. Following the execution of a search warrant, a handgun believed to be the murder weapon has been located and seized as evidence.
The victim had injuries consistent with gunshot wounds and has been taken to Jacksonville Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy to determine cause of death and collect further evidence.
Tracy Lea Luckey was booked into the Columbia County Detention Facility on one count of murder with no bond.
Although Luckey identified herself as the victim’s wife, Detectives have not been able to verify this through records; however they lived together and had a 30 year relationship.
The investigation continues.
