On Monday, April 27, Columbia County Sheriff’s Office held a luncheon in honor of two valued members of the CCSO family who are retiring after many years with the agency. Sheriff Mark Hunter took the opportunity to point out that between them both they have over 60 years of service to the Sheriff’s Office and Columbia County.
Ms. Kathy Shepard is the agency’s property/evidence custodian. Her professional and proficient work has been evident in thousands of criminal cases, where security and the chain of custody of evidence are required for successful prosecution. She retires with more than 27 years of service.
Ms. Beverly Jackson is the Director of Human Resources and a member of the Sheriff’s staff. Her vast knowledge in personnel services helped move the agency into the 21 century. From overseeing the hiring process to maintaining personnel records to tracking required training, she kept the employees of the Sheriff Office within the strict standards required of Florida law enforcement agencies. She retires with 35 years of service.
Sheriff Hunter praised each of them for their dedication and expressed his personal gratitude for jobs exceptionally well done. We wish them all the very best in their retirement and the next chapter of their lives.
