The preliminary examination by the medical examiner revealed no trauma to the body and cause of death has not been determined. The medical examiner is awaiting toxicology.
Veronica Witcher was the registered owner of the vehicle in which she was found.

The decedent has been identified by fingerprints as Veronica Witcher 43, of Lake City. The cause of death is still undetermined pending examination by the medical examiner in Jacksonville Florida.
Next of kin has been notified and detectives are interviewing friends and family as the investigation continues.
(Original release)-Detectives Investigate Suspicious Death
On Saturday, February 7 at 1:09 pm, Columbia County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to 187 NW Joland Way to investigate a possible homicide.
The investigation was initiated when Robert Allen, 57, the resident of 187 NW Joland Way discovered a deceased body in his girlfriend’s car that was parked in his yard.
After deputies confirmed the presence of a body in the car, detectives and the Sheriff’s Crime Scene Unit responded. FDLE Crime Scene Unit responded to assist in the investigation.
The decedent has not been positively identified as of this release.
