On Monday, January 26, Sheriff Mark Hunter visited a kindergarten class at Eastside Elementary School to read to the students.
Sheriff Hunter’s philosophy is simple; by interacting with the kids in a positive manner at a young age he hopes to minimize negative interaction with law enforcement later in their lives.
Sheriff Hunter said “being a kindergarten teacher and being a sheriff has a lot in common; both have great responsibility, they share a mutual love for the children, and they work toward a better future for the community”.
