On Friday, December 19, students from Eastside Elementary School toured the Sheriff’s Office Operations Center, seeing firsthand how the Sheriff’s Office personnel perform their various duties.
The students, who were made up of the Eastside Safety Patrol and Student Council were provided an overview of the Sheriff’s Office, spoke with detectives and were given a demonstration by two K9 deputies.
Sheriff Mark Hunter talked with the group of 39 students and praised them for their service. He encouraged them to do well in school and took the opportunity to recruit some future deputies. He further challenged them to be positive role models and to make good decisions.
