On Saturday, July 19 at 8 pm, the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office responded to 290 SW Wendy Terrence due to a report of 3 or 4 people being stabbed. When deputies arrived they located 2 victims that had been stabbed and 2 that were cut.
The preliminary investigation revealed an argument between the occupants of 290 and 288 SW Wendy Terr prompted the stabbing. Deputies learned that Donald and Leah Fanslow, the landlords, went over to the 288 address next door and began arguing, telling the occupants they were going to turn off the power to the home.
As the argument intensified, Donald produced a pocket knife and stabbed Rodney Murnahan 29, Floyd Ferrell 20 and cut Cathern Ferrell 37. Sometime during the incident, Leah Fanslow 48 received a cut.
Floyd was air lifted to an area hospital with a stab wound to his torso; Rodney was taken by ambulance to the hospital for a cut and stab wound to his lower body. Both Cathern and Leah were treated at the hospital for lacerations to their hands and released. Floyd and Rodney were listed in stable condition as of 3 am.
Donald Fanslow, 46 was arrested and taken to the Columbia County Detention Facility where he was booked on 3 counts of aggravated battery with a $150,000 bond.
