On Friday, April 11, the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office served a search warrant at a residence, 1647 SW Camellia Lane in Lake City. The warrant was a result of a three month long investigation into internet child pornography.
The investigation, which began in February, was initiated after a cyber-tip was received from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC). Detectives learned that a local man had uploaded child pornography onto a social networking site. Joined with Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) agents and personnel from their Florida Computer Crime Center also known as FC3, the search warrant was served and the suspect was located.
Arrested on scene was Adam Quinn Chapital for charges of Transmission of Pornography by Electronic Device or Equipment and Unlawful Use of Two-way Communications Device with a total bond of $80,000.
