On 10/31/2013 at approximately 12:48 am, Columbia County 911 communications center received a call of a house fire on Dante Terrace. Columbia County Fire Rescue, Columbia County Sheriff’s Office, and Lifeguard Emergency Medical Services were dispatched to the scene.
Upon arrival Columbia County Sheriff’s Deputies reported the home was fully involved with flames throughout the roof. The home owner, identified as David Greear, was outside the residence and was transported to Lake City Medical Center with undetermined injuries. The body of a white female was found in the remains of the structure once the fire was extinguished by Columbia County Fire Rescue.
The Columbia County Sheriff’s Office with assistance of the State Fire Marshal’s Investigators and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement are currently on scene investigating the fire.
