On Friday, June 7, 2013, a Ft. White man was arrested by Columbia County Sheriff’s Office deputies after an indoor marijuana growing operation was discovered in his home. At approximately 8:15 pm, a search warrant was served by the Columbia County Multi Jurisdictional Task Force at 418 SW Bangor Way, Ft. White, FL.
Deputies discovered approximately 34 marijuana plants being grown in a shed on the property. Deputies also discovered the remnants of previously grown marijuana plants in the shed. A search of the suspect’s home resulted in the discovery and seizure of an additional 50 marijuana plants. Deputies discovered paraphernalia in the shed and in the home that facilitated in the growing of the marijuana plants. Numerous items of paraphernalia used to smoke, package and weigh marijuana were found throughout the home.
Deputies arrested the suspect, Earl Raid, without incident and booked him into the Columbia County Detention Facility.
The Columbia County Multi Jurisdictional Task Force is comprised of members from the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration. Officers from the Lake City Police Department also assisted in this investigation.
