On Monday, December 24, 2012, a local business reported being robbed. At approximately 12:00 am, Columbia County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the Internet Café located at 2240 U.S. 90 West, Lake City, FL to investigate a robbery.
Employees of the business told deputies that an unknown person shut off the power to the business. An employee went outside to restore the power at the breaker. While the employee was outside, the suspect entered the business and broke into the office. A second employee, inside the business, attempted to subdue the robber but was unsuccessful. The suspect stole a yet to be determined amount of money and fled the business.
No weapons were displayed by the suspect and no injuries were reported.
The suspect is described as a male, unknown race, and approximately 5’11 with a large build. The suspect was wearing a light blue hooded sweatshirt and had a red bandana covering his face. The suspect was last seen leaving the business in a white, regular cab pickup truck with the tail gate down.
