Florida’s Attorney General has recognized two Columbia County Sheriff’s Office Deputies.
Pam Bondi recognized Deputy Steven Khachigan and Corporal Don Meyer for completing 130 hours of training in juvenile issues offered through the Florida Crime Prevention Training Institute. The two deputies are now entitled to be conferred the designation of Florida School Resource Officer Practitioner. The designation is recognized as a significant achievement in the area of School Resource and School Liaison programs.
In a letter to Sheriff Mark Hunter, General Bondi writes; “I am very proud of Deputy Khachigan and Deputy Meyer’s accomplishment, but I also am awar that this goal could not have been achieved without your commitment to crime prevention and the professional development of your staff:.
