On Friday, December 7, 2012, a Columbia County man was arrested on multiple charges stemming from a shooting investigation.
Columbia County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a residence located on County Rd. 245 at approximately 10:00 p.m. Deputies were investigating an incident where a male subject had allegedly shot at his girlfriend. Deputies discovered the female victim hiding in bushes when they arrived. Deputies were able to move her to safety as they searched for the alleged shooter.
Deputies were able to locate the suspect inside of the residence. He was taken into custody without incident. Witnesses at the scene told deputies that the male suspect had fired a handgun at the female victim during an argument. Deputies were able to recover a small semi-automatic handgun from the home in addition to marijuana, prescription narcotics and drug paraphernalia. Deputies determined that the suspect was a convicted felon and barred from possessing firearms. Suspect Therin Dicks was transported to the Columbia County Detention Facility without incident. No injuries were reported during this incident.
