On Thursday, May 3, 2012, Columbia County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested a man for allegedly shooting his brother. At approximately 4:30 p.m., deputies responded to 147 S.W. Journey Court to investigate a shooting.
Deputies have determined that the suspect and victim, brothers, were involved in an argument in a field on the property. The suspect, David Cray, produced a .380 caliber handgun and allegedly shot his brother one time in the groin area while the victim was seated on a lawnmower. The victim was flown to Shands UF for treatment of the single gunshot wound. The injuries did not appear to be life threatening.
The suspect was taken into custody at the scene without incident. David Cray was transported to the Columbia County Detention Facility and booked on Aggravated Battery charges.
