On Tuesday, January 10, 2012, an undercover operation by the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office led to the arrest of two Columbia County residents and the seizure of 4.5 pounds of marijuana.
The Columbia County Multi Jurisdictional Task received information from other law enforcement sources that a package containing a large amount of marijuana was being shipped from California to a Columbia County address. With the assistance of law enforcement and the shipper, MJTF detectives were able to intercept the contraband package when it was delivered in Columbia County. Detectives served a search warrant at the home located at 219 S.E. Hanover St., Apt 2, Lake City, FL. As a result of the search warrant, the package containing nearly five (5) pounds of marijuana was seized and two persons were arrested without incident.
The estimated street value of the seized narcotics is over $10,000.00.
The Columbia County Multi Jurisdictional Task Force is comprised of Detectives from the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office, Lake City Police Dept., Florida Dept of Law Enforcement and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration.
