On Sunday, May 29, 2011, a Columbia County man was shot in the leg during a robbery. At approximately 1:45 a.m., Columbia County Sheriff’s Office Deputies were dispatched to 376 NE Bonds St., Lake City, FL to investigate a robbery/shooting.
Deputies determined that the suspect approached a group of people standing near a car. The suspect displayed a handgun and demanded that the victim give him his gold necklace. The victim complied with the suspect’s demands. Once the suspect received the necklace, he fired several shots from the handgun. The victim was struck three times in the legs. The suspect fled the scene in a vehicle.
Detective Todd Green was responded to the scene and began to interview witnesses. Detective Green was able to develop a suspect based on eye witness accounts. Detective Green spoke with the victim at Lake Shore Hospital and the victim positively identified the suspect as Jamille Tisdale. At approximately 11:00 p.m. on May 29, 2011, Tisdale arrived at the Lake City Police Department requesting to speak with Deputies about the shooting. Tisdale stated that he was falsely accused of the shooting and was receiving threats. Detective Green placed Tisdale under arrest for the robbery and shooting based on evidence that he collected during the course of the investigation. Additional arrests are pending as the investigation moves forward.
The victim was treated at Shands of Lake Shore and is expected to recover from his injuries.
