On Sunday, April 10, 2011, three Columbia County people were arrested for burglarizing a local business.
At approximately 3:30 a.m., Deputy Brian Lucas conducted a traffic stop on a van at U.S. 441 South and C.R. 252 for a traffic violation. Deputy Lucas observed that a home air conditioning unit was in the back of the Chrysler Voyager. The three occupants of the vehicle were questioned as to where the A/C unit came from. The three occupants initially provided three different stories. It was determined through the investigation that the A/C unit had just been stolen from Harry’s Heating and Air at 2813 South Main Blvd, Lake City, FL.
The stolen property was recovered and returned to the rightful owner. All three suspects were arrested and booked into the Columbia County Detention Facility.
