On Friday, March 18, 2011, a Columbia County man was arrested for allegedly performing lewd acts on a child.
Columbia County Sheriff’s Office Deputies were dispatched to 5796 S.W. Ichetucknee Ave, Ft. White, FL at approximately 4:30 p.m. A resident at the home notified Deputies that she witnessed Timothy Bowie engaged in a lewd act with a minor. When the resident confronted him, Bowie fled the residence into a wooded area. Columbia County Sheriff’s Office Deputies actively began searching for Bowie. A K-9 unit from the Florida Department of Corrections assisted the Sheriff’s Office in tracking and locating Bowie. Timothy Bowie was arrested without incident and transported to the Columbia County Detention Facility.
Detectives with the Sheriff’s Office are continuing their investigation into this case and any potential incidents from the past. The victim was medically evaluated following this incident. The victim is currently in the care of grandparents.
