ON JUNE 17, 2010, A COLUMBIA COUNTY JUVENILE WAS ARRESTED BY COLUMBIA COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE DETECTIVES AND CHARGED WITH SEXUAL BATTERY ON A MENTALLY DEFECTIVE PERSON.
KHAMRON WILLIE ROBINSON, 17, WAS TAKEN INTO CUSTODY WITHOUT INCIDENT AT THE COLUMBIA COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE AT APPROXIMATELY 10:00 A.M.
ON MAY 24, 2010, A SEXUAL BATTERY WAS REPORTED AT EASTSIDE MENTAL HEALTH FACILITY. A FEMALE RESIDENT TOLD DEPUTIES THAT A MALE ENTERED HER ROOM WHILE SHE WAS TAKING A SHOWER. THE VICTIM ALLEGES THAT THE SUSPECT FORCED HER TO PERFORM SEXUAL ACTS. THE SUSPECT FLED THE ROOM AFTERWARDS.
DEPUTIES WERE ABLE TO RECOVER DNA EVIDENCE FROM THE SCENE. THE EVIDENCE WAS SENT TO THE FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF LAW ENFORCMENT CRIME LAB IN TALLAHASSEE. WHILE THE EVIDENCE WAS BEING PROCESSED, DETECTIVE TERA PERRY AND DETECTIVE TODD LUSSIER’S INVESTIGATION IDENTIFIED WITNESSES TO THE INCIDENT. THE WITNESSESS AND VICTIM WERE ABLE TO IDENTIFY MR. ROBINSON FROM A PHOTO LINE-UP. A DNA SAMPLE WAS OBTAINED FROM MR. ROBINSON. THE FDLE LABORATORY WAS ABLE TO CONFIRM THAT THE ORIGINAL DNA FROM THE CRIME SCENE AND THE DNA SAMPLE FROM MR. ROBINSON WERE IN FACT THE SAME.
MR. ROBINSON WAS TRANSPORTED AND BOOKED INTO THE COLUMBIA COUNTY DETENTION FACILITY WITHOUT INCIDENT AND IS BEING HELD WITHOUT BOND.
