On Thursday, April 22, 2010, a Jasper, FL man was arrested by the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office for possession of marijuana with intent to sell.
At approximately 7:45 p.m., Sgt Timmy Morgan conducted a traffic stop on a Dodge truck on Interstate 75 (northbound, mile marker 435). Sgt Morgan could smell the odor of marijuana in the vehicle as he wrote the driver a citation. Sgt Morgan, with the assistance of Lt. Pete Spurlock and Deputy Jay Swisher, conducted a search of the vehicle and the driver. 20 small bags of marijuana were found on the driver of the vehicle. The bags of marijuana were packaged in a manner consistent with the sale of illegal narcotics.
