On Thursday, 4/22/2010, two South Florida men were arrested by Columbia County Sheriff’s Deputies for possession of narcotics.
At approximately 8:40 p.m. , Lt. Pete Spurlock conducted a traffic stop on a 1994 Honda on Interstate 10 (westbound, mile marker 295). The driver of the vehicle was found to have multiple driver license suspensions and was taken into custody. The passenger of the vehicle was the owner and gave consent to Lt. Spurlock to search the vehicle for illegal contraband. Lt. Spurlock immediately smelled the odor consistent with raw marijuana. A further search of the car revealed three pounds of marijuana, hidden in the trunk of the car.
Both the driver and passenger were arrested without incident and transported to the Columbia County Detention Facility.
