On Friday, March 5, 2010, Columbia County Sheriff’s Office Deputies arrested a Tennessee man for burglary.
Deputies were called to 3003 S.E. County Road 245 at approximately 8:15 p.m. The homeowner arrived home and noticed lights on in the home. The homeowner called 911 and waited for Deputies to arrive.
Corporal Jeff Watson arrived on scene and began an inspection of the home’s exterior. Through a window, Cpl Watson observed a nude male subject get up from a living room chair and move to another room in the house. Additional Deputy Sheriff’s arrived and attempts were made to have the subject exit the home. The suspect refused to comply with the verbal commands of the Deputies. Deputies made entry into the home and found the suspect lying on a bedroom floor, naked. The man was taken into custody without incident.
The homeowner did not know the suspect and had never seen him before. The homeowner could not find anything that was stolen but it was apparent that the suspect took a shower and ate several food items. He then sat in the living and watched television.
The suspect told Deputies that he did indeed break into the home, eat and drink items, took a shower and watched television. The suspect stated that he was hungry, needed a shower and a place to sleep.
The suspect resides in TN but Deputies believe that he had been staying at different motels in the area. Deputies believe he has been in the area for several days. Deputies will continue their investigation into the suspect to determine if he is responsible to any other crimes in the area.
Shane Tyler Tinsman was transported to the Columbia County Detention Facility and is being held on $2,000.00 bond.
