On August 5, 2009, the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office served a search warrant at 252 S.W. Susan Cirlce, Lot 5, Lake City, FL. A search warrant was obtained after an investigation into recent vehicle burglaries led to the residence.
Detectives with CCSO, LCPD and FDLE began a joint investigation approximately three weeks ago. Approximately 33 vehicles have been burglarized in central Columbia County and the City of Lake City. It is estimated that over $20,000.00 in merchandise has been stolen from these vehicles. The suspects stole laptop computers, GPS systems, stereos, cash and other items from the cars. The suspects did break windows on some of the vehicles to gain entry.
Detectives were led to these suspects through exhaustive and thorough investigative work. The suspects were not at home when the search warrant was served at approximately 4:00 p.m. Wednesday. The suspects were located later that same evening and were arrested without incident. Detectives were able to recover a large amount of stolen property from the home. A full accounting of the property is currently underway so that the stolen items can be returned to their rightful owners. A monetary amount of the recovered property has not yet been determined.
