Five Arrested in Meth Lab Bust

On Monday, March 5, 2012, five Columbia County residents were arrested by deputies subsequent to a methamphetamine investigation.

Concerned citizens notified the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office deputies of a possible clandestine methamphetamine laboratory at 3144 North U.S. 441. As the deputies approached the residence, a male subject standing at the open front door ran into the home. Deputies observed a second male subject standing in the home with methamphetamine processing materials in his hands. Additional drug paraphernalia could be plainly seen on the floor of the home. Deputies were able to secure both of the men. Two female suspects were located in the kitchen of the home and secured by deputies. A third female suspect was found hiding in a bathroom of the home. Other items, believed to be actively processing methamphetamine, were located in the bathroom with the female suspect.

Deputies and Multi Jurisdictional Task Force detectives were able to secure a search warrant for the home. Detectives found several items consistent with the clandestine manufacture of methamphetamine and fully processed methamphetamine. All five suspects were arrested without incident and booked into the Columbia County Detention Facility.
