Deputies Locate Stolen Property
On Tuesday, September 8, the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office recovered a large amount of stolen property taken in two separate burglaries that occurred over the weekend.

On Friday, August 21, at approximately 2 pm, Deputies responded to a burglary in progress at 249 NE Meeks St. in the unincorporated county area. When Deputies arrived, the burglar had fled the area on foot.
On Friday, August 21, Sheriff Mark Hunter presented a Detention Deputy with the Sheriff’s Office Commendation Medal for her actions on July 21, 2015 which thwarted the escape of a jail inmate.
On Friday, July 31, at 5:18 pm the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office was called to 427 SW Breckenridge Lane near Fort White due to a missing 10 year old child. Family members of Katelynn Mosher, 10 reported her as a runaway, which prompted the search.
On Friday, July 31, the Columbia County Detention Facility was host to a luncheon in honor of one of their retiring members. Ms. Sharon Parker, the administrative secretary for the Detention Division of the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office, retired with more than 28 years of service.
