On Thursday, June 19th, 2025, the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office was Reaccredited for its 3rd time by the Commission for Florida Law Enforcement at the summer FLA-PAC (Florida Police Accreditation Commission) Conference held in Orlando, Florida. The formal assessment for reaccreditation took place at the Sheriff’s Office on April 7-8, 2025, and reviewed the agencies policies and operations compliance to accreditation standards. The agency had a flawless review and was praised by the assessors for its excellent organization and continuous pursuit of best practices in Law Enforcement. Chief Deputy Katina Dicks, Accreditation Manager-Sergeant James Cason, and Administrative Sergeant Amy Geiger attended the Conference to accept the reaccreditation award. The Columbia County Sheriff’s Office, Law Enforcement side, was previously accredited in 2019 and reaccredited in 2022. The Columbia County Sheriff’s Office is committed to the accreditation practices and striving to improve its purpose as a Law Enforcement and Detention agency. To further that goal, the Sheriff’s Office is currently working on obtaining an accredited status for the Columbia County Detention Facility. The formal assessment for the detention facility is scheduled April 2026.
