On Tuesday, August 22, 2023, Sheriff Hunter, and three other sheriffs, presented Senator Jennifer Bradley with the “Friend of the Sheriff” Award from the Florida Sheriff’s Association. Senator Bradley was recognized for her work on the Emergency Communications bill, advocating for sheriffs to serve on the E911 board. Senator Bradley also served as the Chair of the Appropriations Committee on Criminal and Civil Justice. In this role, she helped secure full funding for the FSA’s Rapid DNA pilot program. Additionally, Senator Bradley has been instrumental in helping sheriff’s offices of fiscally constrained counties receive state appropriations which helps them fund various projects. This has allowed many of those agencies to free up resources for other services and needs within their respective communities.
Sheriff Hunter expressed his appreciation for the senator saying, “Senator Bradley has been a champion for law enforcement within our district and state. Her hard work and commitment to public safety makes it easier for partnering agencies to share our resources when needed, and work together to keep all of our communities safe.”
Please join us in thanking Senator Bradley for her support and also congratulating her for receiving this award.
