Late Tuesday evening, August 8, Columbia County Sheriff’s Office Detectives arrested Steven Moot, 32 of Lake City for attempted murder of his wife as the investigation into a person being shot at a home on Corwin Glen continues.
Thursday at 5:21 pm, Deputies responded to a 911 call at the home and discovered Amanda Moot suffering from a gunshot wound to her face. The preliminary investigation revealed that Steven and Amanda were having an argument when Steven armed himself with a handgun and shot Amanda.
Steven left in his work truck and was captured a short distance away. Following his interview, Steven was booked into the Columbia County Detention Facility on 1 count of Attempted Murder (Domestic) with no bond.
Amanda Moot, 31 is being treated at a Gainesville hospital and is in serious but stable condition.
The investigation continues.
