On Friday, August 21, at approximately 2 pm, Deputies responded to a burglary in progress at 249 NE Meeks St. in the unincorporated county area.
When Deputies arrived, the burglar had fled the area on foot. Witnesses advised that the suspect had run into a wooded area nearby. Deputies set up a perimeter while a K9 unit responded to track the suspect. Prior to the K9 unit’s arrival, a citizen approached a Deputy and told him the suspect was hiding under the steps of a nearby home.
The deputy went to the home, located the suspect and arrested him. Trevarius Ingraham, 26 was arrested for burglary, trespassing, and resisting an officer without violence and was booked at the Columbia County Detention Facility on $12,000 bond. Additional charges are likely as Ingraham is a suspect in an earlier burglary in Lake City.
This is an active and on-going investigation.
