The body found by K9 search teams Friday July 3 has been positively identified as the missing Baker County woman, Ms. Sharon Jackson. The cause of death has not yet been determined and the case is still active and ongoing.
K9 Search Team Locate Human Remains
On Friday, July 3, at approximately 11:30 am, K9 teams from First Response Search Team out of Tallahassee found human remains while searching for a missing person.
The deceased person, who has not yet been identified, was found in the wooded area southwest of SR 47 and Business Point Dr. This area is near where a missing woman, Sharon Jackson’s vehicle was found abandoned on June 22.
The search that located the remains was part of a coordinated search effort between the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office and First Response K9 teams.
This is an active and on-going investigation.
