On Thursday, November 19, members of the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office delivered food baskets to Catholic Charities as part of a holiday food drive. While there the Director of Catholic Charities, Suzanne Edward made them aware of an additional need in the community. Suzanne shared that there were children at a local school in need of socks and shoes. Deputy Richard Conger from the Patrol Division collected money from some of his coworkers on patrol and support staff and they purchased the needed items and delivered them to the students. Sheriff Mark Hunter commented “these folks learned of a need and leapt into action; they remind all of us why we got into law enforcement in the first place, to help people”
