School Nurse Investigated
On Friday, May 9, the Columbia County Sheriff Office initiated an investigation into the theft of prescription medication from the nurse’s station at Pinemount Elementary School in Lake City.
The investigation, conducted by the school resource deputies is active and on-going as potential victims are being identified and others associated with this case are being interviewed.
As more information becomes available it will be released.
***Update, 4:30 pm, May 13***
As a result of the investigation, Marilee Boozer, 24 was arrested at her residence and charged with theft and possession of a controlled substance. She was booked into the Columbia County Detention Facility with a bond of $5000.
The investigation was initiated at the request of the Columbia County School Board and Principle at Pinemount Elementary School when they learned of missing medication. The school had received information from a parent that some of their child’s medication was missing.
The investigation continues.
