On Wednesday, detectives from the Multi-Jurisdictional Drug Task Force served search warrants at residences, 411 NW Bascom Norris Dr. Apt. 104 and 843 NE Catawba St. in Lake City. The warrants were a result of a lengthy undercover investigation into narcotics violations.
Columbia County Sheriff’s Office SWAT deputies assisted by securing the homes for the detectives. The searches uncovered cash, guns, marijuana, cocaine in powder form and “crack”.
Arrested at the Bascom Norris address was Tony Holley, 32 on charges of possession of a firearm by a felon, manufacture of cocaine, possession of cocaine, trafficking in cocaine, possession of drug equipment and violation of probation with bond of $326,000. Arrested at the Catawba address was Wayne Freeman, 37 on charges of possession of firearm by felon, possession of cocaine, manufacture of cocaine, possession of marijuana, possession of drug equipment, and violation of probation with bond of $252,000.
The investigation continues and more arrests are expected.
The Drug Task force is comprised of law enforcement personnel from Columbia County Sheriff’s Office, Lake City Police Department, Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE), Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF).
