On Monday, September 16, 2013, Jerami Robinson was arrested by the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office on Fraud and Theft charges. An investigation was initiated after management of Anderson Columbia notified the Sheriff’s Office that they were seeing inconsistencies in the companies’ invoices. An inquiry by staff of Anderson Columbia showed items ordered by IT Manager Jerami Robinson did not match the invoices given to the company for approval. The investigation showed that several Ipad’s and other computer equipment were ordered, but the company did not receive, or have on their inventory. Anderson Columbia believes this investigation could reveal the thefts to total over $200,000. This information led to the arrest of Robinson, but the investigation continued.
During the investigation by the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office Detective Division, some of the stolen items were found to have been sold from online auction sites. Also, stolen items were found locally which were purchased from Hankins Computers in Lake City.
On Thursday, October 3, 2013, two search warrants were served simultaneously by the Detective Division at 3o5 E Duval St. (Hankins Computers) and 251 SE Dan Ct. (Residence of Robinson), the warrants were fruitful in seizing stolen property and property used to commit fraudulent activities. This investigation continues and further arrests are pending.
