On December 14, 2011, a Lake City man was arrested for Grand Theft Auto. At approximately 12:00 am on December 14th, Deputy Sheriff Joshua McCardle observed a dirt bike being driven on N.W. Brown Rd. The dirt bike did not have proper lighting or a license plate. Deputy McCardle conducted a traffic stop and soon learned that the dirt bike was reported stolen. Previously, on 12/4/2011, two dirt bikes were reported stolen from a residence on SW Mayo Rd in Ft. White, FL.
The suspect was arrested without incident at the scene and led Deputy McCardle to the location of the second stolen dirt bike. Both bikes were returned to the rightful owner. Additional arrests are pending as the investigation moves forward.
Chris Buse was transported and booked into the Columbia County Detention Facility without incident. He is being held on $5,000.00 bond.
