On August 18, 2011, at approximately 7:50 am, Columbia County Sheriff’s Office Deputies responded to a suspicious vehicle complaint in the area of NW Baughn St and NW Parnell Ave in northern Columbia County. Deputy Scott Busby discovered a yellow Pontiac Firebird parked on the side of the road occupied by four people. Deputy Busby observed two handguns lying on the ground by the passenger door of the car.
During the course of the investigation, it was determined that the four suspects had burglarized multiple vehicles in the area. The suspects had stolen two handguns, GPS devices, game systems, gas cans and cash from the victims’ vehicles. The stolen property was taken into evidence for eventual return to the rightful owner.
All four juvenile suspects were arrested without incident and booked into the Columbia County Detention Facility. The juveniles were released to the Florida Dept of Juvenile Justice in Gainesville, FL.
